Daily Thumbprint Collection 3, The Wandering is an astonishing album, an instrumental wonder whose creation spanned more than ten years, thousands of miles, a galaxy of musical genres, and a small army of rock, classical and jazz musicians across the USA. Its creator, American composer and drummer Caleb Dolister, imagined a through-composed statement of groove-driven rock and beyond-genre music constructed with electric and acoustic instruments. Recording The Wandering evolved into a decade-long odyssey, a musical journey across North America with equipment hauled in cars and planes, visits to cities spanning the coasts, all to track two dozen musicians (the equivalent of a small orchestra or big band!) and a mountain of music refined through to multiple revisions. The end result is an album of gorgeous, multi-layered, spacious, and rhythmic compositions, distilled - like fine bourbon - through expertise and time.

Believers is a world-influenced jazz/fusion trio that brings together three musicians who have spent years performing music on the borders of jazz, fusion and world music. Guitarist Brad Shepik has performed with Paul Motian and Yuri Yunakov. Percussionist John Hadfield has toured and recorded with Nguyen Le and Kinan Azmeh. Bassist Sam Minaie has spent time in the bands of Tigran Hamasyan and Melody Gardot. Though their influences are global, their aesthetic is rooted in jazz, blues, rock and the art of improvisation. Their collective compositions are influenced by diverse musical traditions such as Balkan music, South Indian Carnatic music, and North and West African folk music.

The association of trumpet and drums is as old as civilization itself. Ancient instruments of both proclamation and celebration, they have evolved together and influenced the development of musical language in tandem. Likewise, throughout the modern history of improvised music, duos of horn players and drummers have stretched the limits of sound and form, and reached for an elemental approach to spontaneous musical conversation. With Language, drummer Matt Mayhall and trumpeter Dan Rosenboom pay homage to this rich tradition championed by many of their respective heroes, and present a stunning duo debut.
